Securing North America's Critical Metals Industry

Ucore North America, LLC is a technology company developing a rare earth refinery in Alexandria, Louisiana; it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ucore Rare Metals Inc., headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Ucore is focused on refining rare-earth elements, specifically, building a Western supply chain for magnet materials and specialty applications using its proprietary RapidSX™ separation platform. Ucore was founded in 2006 and is advancing a “refiner-first” strategy working with a multitude of Western sources of rare earth elements, with listings on the TSXV (UCU) and OTCQX (UURAF). 

Commercially, Ucore is assembling feedstocks from U.S.-friendly nations to run through its Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex, a move that supports the U.S. aim to diversify away from China’s current control of the global rare earth supply chain, underpinning the importance of the Louisiana facility.

Ucore's  first commercial facility—the Louisiana Strategic Metals Complex (SMC)—is an 80,800-sq-ft developing plant at England Airpark in Alexandria, Louisiana, secured under a multi-decade lease and located within a federally designated Foreign Trade Zone. The SMC is planned to be commissioned in stages as RapidSX™ production modules are installed and ramped up, positioning Ucore to supply high-purity rare-earth oxides to metal, alloy, and magnet makers, as well as to specialty material companies in need of these oxides.
